The Athens Women’s Football Summit (AthensWFS) is rapidly developing into the new, year-round global home of the girls’ and women’s Beautiful Game at all levels. Our long-term goal is to not only be the leading international consultant, advocate and trusted voice of for the good of the game, but also to unify and support the industry as the worldwide convenor and connective medium between women’s football’s top global stakeholders. 

Central to these roles is our annual global gathering in October, where football executives, corporate CEOs, investors, players, coaches, educators, and diverse top stakeholders from sport, business, government, NGOs, and other socially-important institutions will come together online and in-person to exchange best practices, experiences and innovative ideas and create new strategies and colloborations which can help to power women’s football forward.

After deciding early on to forego an in-person October 2021 global assembly due to the unique challenges in health, travel, accomodations and gatherings brought about by a constantly evolving pandemic, after speaking with our members, speakers and strategic partners around the world we have decided that it is best to forego holding an October 2021 virtual event and instead focusing all resources on the 2022 Athens Women’s Football Summit, on ongoing international projects, and on the other game-changing, in-person events being planned for the new year on both sides of the Atlantic Ocean.
